Imprisoned Art is a project in the UK that's sole aim is to unlock the creative potential of inmates from around the world. All of the art has a story behind it.
Some of the artists will never see the light of day again and art is the only sense of freedom they will ever experience. Some of the artists have been wrongly convicted and sentenced to death. Their art is a direct insight into their mind states and expressions of hope. Through Imprisoned Art we will show this form of expression. Other artists are detained indefinitely in secure mental health units and art is a coping strategy to manage distressing symptoms of mental illness.
All of the artists have a story to tell and we at Imprisoned Art will bring these stories to the fore front of your minds.
